RNSG 2125 Adult Health Nursing II: Advanced Nursing Concepts
Adult Health Nursing II: Advanced Nursing Concepts is designed to prepare the student to use the nursing process in the care of patients with stressors related to the immune, respiratory, cardiovascular, and renal systems. Other content includes chronic health conditions, trauma, disability, burns, palliative care, community health, and bioterrorism. Pharmacotherapeutics related to the identified stressors will also be included. The role of the nurse as provider of care will continue to be expanded upon to include a higher level of evidenced-based clinical decision-making; patient, family and group education; demonstration of independence and self-direction; and initiation of collaboration with other health care team members. Students will provide holistic care for common and uncommon stressors to patients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Clinical learning experiences will take place in a variety of acute care and community settings.
