General Catalog 2026-2027

Federal Student Aid

Eligibility is based upon the need analysis from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the student's enrollment in an eligible program of study. Certain certificate programs at Chattahoochee Tech are not eligible for federal student aid due to eligibility criteria set by the U.S. Department of Education. Concerned students may check with any financial aid office.

Pell Grant Lifetime Maximum:

Students may only receive Federal Pell Grants for the equivalent of twelve (12) semesters of full-time enrollment at any institution. This applies to all students who have ever received a Federal Pell Grant. If the 12‐semester maximum is exceeded, students are ineligible for any additional Pell Grants regardless of completion of program of study or undergraduate degree attained.

Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant is an award to help undergraduate students pay for their education beyond high school. For many students, Pell Grants provide a "foundation" of financial aid, to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources may be added. Grants do not have to be repaid. The amount of financial aid a student is eligible to receive through the Pell Grant is determined by using the information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The U.S. Department of Education applies a standard formula established by Congress to determine annual Pell Grant eligibility. The Financial Aid Office at Chattahoochee Technical College will assist you with the Pell Grant application (FAFSA), if needed. Your financial aid file must be complete by designated payment deadlines, or you will be required to pay your tuition and fees and later receive reimbursement, if eligible.
