Continues development of foundational skills in aerospace composite layout, fabrication, and repair. Emphasizes vacuum bagging techniques for complex shapes, fabrication of potted honeycomb core structures, and production of composite components using tooling. Develops proficiency in machining, trimming, and drilling operations with fixtures, as well as surface preparation, secondary bonding, and component assembly. Introduces fundamental concepts of resin vacuum infusion processes. Topics include: mold preparation, layup orientation, vacuum bagging complex shapes, tooling molds & fixtures, NDI methods overview, process documentation, assembly methods, mechanical fastening, surface prep & bonding, machining & drilling.
