General Catalog 2026-2027

Education

Chattahoochee Technical College requires applicants to provide documentation of previous academic experience prior to admission.

High School Diplomas

A high school diploma, GED, or approved high school equivalency assessment (verified by an official transcript, including graduation date) will be required for admission to the college for the vast majority of academic programs. High school diplomas must have been awarded by a state-recognized secondary institution.

High school diplomas from unaccredited institutions, certificates of attendance, or special education diplomas (including similar credentials with other names) are only recognized for programs not requiring a high school credential or equivalency.

High school Certificates of Attendance or other certificates, credentials, or documents where the student did not complete all required coursework or testing required for a high school diploma in that state are only recognized for programs not requiring a high school credential or equivalency.

Homeschool Graduates

Applicants who were home schooled who attended an accredited program must submit annual progress reports or a final transcript for the equivalent of the homeschooled student’s junior and senior years.  The final progress report or transcript must include the graduation date.

Non-Accredited Schools

Applicants who attended a non-accredited high school or home school must submit an official transcript and one of the following:

  • Official scores from an assessment instrument meeting college established required minimums.
  • Successful completion of 24 semester or 36 transferrable quarter hours of college coursework for credit that appear on an official college transcript earned at a regionally accredited college/university.

General Educational Development (GED) or Approved High School Equivalency Assessment

Individuals who do not meet the above requirements may be admitted to the college by obtaining a GED or completing an approved high school equivalency assessment. Submission of an official GED transcript or an official transcript from an approved high school equivalency assessment would be required.

Service members of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines or Navy

Veterans of these military branches may submit an official copy of their DD Form 214 indicating them as a high school graduate or equivalent.

College Transcripts

Students who are currently attending or have previously attended one or more regionally accredited colleges or universities must submit an official transcript from each institution attended. In certain situations, all transcripts may not be required. Students should speak with an Admissions Counselor for more information.

Students who have earned an associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, or who have successfully completed (with a grade of C or better) a minimum of 16 semester hours at the degree level, including college-level math and English, may be exempt from submitting high school, homeschool, GED, or approved high school equivalency assessment documentation. Students who have successfully completed 24 semester hours at a regionally accredited institution, without completing degree-level English and math, may also qualify for this exemption.

NOTES:

International transcripts or diplomas must be evaluated by an approved evaluation service.

Students attending during quarter hours must have a minimum of 24 quarter hours at the degree level (including college-level math and English) to be exempt from submitting high school, homeschool, GED, or approved high school equivalency assessment documentation. Students who have successfully completed 36 transferable quarter hours at a regionally accredited institution, without completing degree-level English and math, may also qualify for this exemption.
