Addictions Specialist

Program Purpose: The Addictions Specialist Certificate is a sequence of courses that prepares individuals to work with substance abusers in a variety of settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and rehabilitation programs. The certificate includes combination of coursework and hands-on experience through the Internship course. This will prepare students for entry-level positions in the substance abuse field and can be used towards the hours required for the Georgia Certified Addiction Counselor.
Program Length: A full time student who has successfully completed all general education courses with a C or better can complete the certificate in two semesters.
Admission Requirements: Students must meet all admission requirements of the college and have reached the age of 18 by the start of internship/practicum.
