Veterans’ Education Benefits

Veterans' Administration (VA) benefits are available to students and their dependents who qualify. Veterans are encouraged to also apply for other financial aid resources using the FAFSA. Veterans may receive financial aid in addition to their Veteran's Education Benefits. Students may contact the VA Education Hotline in Atlanta, Georgia, at 1-888-442-4551, or visit the website at www.gibill.va.gov. The college's VA Certifying Officials reside at the Marietta and North Metro Campuses in the Financial Aid Office; however, students may address questions to any campus or contact fa.va@chattahoocheetech.edu.

Chattahoochee Technical College permits any covered individual to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a certificate for entitlement to educational assistance (a Certificate of Eligibility) under Chapter 31 and Chapter 33 and ending on the earlier of the following dates:

  1. The date on which payment from VA is made to the institution.
  2. 90 days after the date the institution certified tuition and fees following the receipt of the Certificate of Eligibility.

A student can also submit a “Statement of Benefits” obtained from the Department of Veteran Affairs VA website-e-Benefits.

Chapter 31 (Veteran Readiness & Employment)
Students utilizing Chapter 31 benefits must have their VR&E counselor submit a purchase order through Tungsten portal for tuition and fees. A separate purchase order must be submitted for books and supplies.

Chattahoochee Technical College will not impose any penalties, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual due to their inability to meet financial obligations to the institution caused by delayed disbursement funding from VA under Chapter 31 or 33.
