Credit by Examination/Articulated Credit for High School Students
Articulation Exam
A prospective student who has graduated from a Georgia high school within the last 18 months may request to take an Articulation Exam for an introductory Diploma Level course. If the exam is passed successfully, credit for the course would only be given once the student enrolls in the college.
College Level Examination Placement Credit (CLEP)
Developed by CollegeBoard, CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program. The college will award credit for a limited number of degree level course exams. For credit to be granted, the score must be at the 50th percentile. A list of the equivalent courses may be found at on the college website under CLEP.
Exemption Exam
A current student may receive course credit for a Diploma Level course by passing an Exemption Exam if one is offered. The exam validates competencies in skills the student would obtain through enrollment in the course and may be written and/or performance based. A minimum score, determined by the department faculty, must be achieved to exempt a course. Please see Exemption Exams and Fees for available exams.
