Technical Studies Associate of Applied Science Degree

The Technical Studies Associate Degree program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in today's technical industry fields. This program offers students learning opportunities that develop higher level academic skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. It is specifically open to students who have already completed another approved technical or industrial program of study. The program emphasizes a continuation of technical studies theory and practical applications necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Technical Studies and will be qualified for employment as technicians.

Students may be allowed to enter the Studies degree program if they've received a credential in one of the following programs: Aircraft Structural Technology, Air Conditioning Technology, Automotive Technology, Avionics, Brewing and Fermentation Production Technology, Carpentry, CNC Technology, Cosmetology, Diesel Equipment Technology, Industrial Maintenance and Electrical Technology, Precision Machining and Manufacturing, and Welding and Joining Technology. Students interested in this degree should contact an Technical Studies advisor in order to develop a degree plan.

To meet the minimum required 15 semester credit hours in General Core courses an additional 3 semester credit hours must be selected from a course in Area I, Area II, Area III, or Area IV. Science courses in BIOL, CHEM, and PHYS may also satisfy this requirement.
