Phlebotomy Technician Certificate

The Phlebotomist Technician program prepares students to be a vital member of the clinical laboratory team.  The program will focus on teaching students how to obtain blood specimens through venipuncture and micro collection techniques as well as proper transportation of other clinical specimens. Phlebotomists are able to work in a variety of health care systems including hospitals, neighborhood health centers, medical group practices, HMOs, and public health facilities. 

Phlebotomy Program requirements: Complete pre-requisite courses and attend a Phlebotomy application session for the next cohort.  Students must be 18 years old for entrance into occupational program curriculum. 
 
Graduates of the Phlebotomy program are competent in collecting and processing blood specimens and are eligible to sit for the Phlebotomy Technician Certification (RPT) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT) Certification.
