Program Specific Requirements
Chattahoochee Technical College is an open-access institution. The institution does not deny entry to the College for qualified applicants; yet, due to seating availability and other program-specific limitations such as number of healthcare clinical sites, some programs of study have limited student enrollment which results in a competitive entry process. Additionally, due to industry, legal, or profession requirements, prospective students interested in certain programs of study will need to satisfy additional entry and age requirements.
Competitive Programs:
The competitive process is intended to collect success indicators to determine which students will be most likely to complete the program, therefore making the best utilization of these limited resources. Most competitive programs require students to complete a series of prerequisite courses as well as take an exam that will measure skills and abilities for a given field of study. Some programs will also include an application session and orientation.
Prerequisite course requirements may usually be satisfied by enrolling in a Technical Certificate of Credit. If you are interested in a healthcare-related Associate of Applied Science degree, your prerequisites will be available by enrolling in the Healthcare Science Technical Certificate of Credit or Interdisciplinary Studies Associate of Applied Science Degree. If you are interested in a diploma-level program, your prerequisites will be available by enrolling in the Healthcare Assistant Technical Certificate of Credit.
*Please refer to the webpage of your intended program of study for more information on actual prerequisite courses needed, grade requirements, test score expectations, application/orientation session schedules and more. Questions regarding admissions statistics for competitive programs should be directed to an Academic Advisor assigned to the School of Nursing.
