Office of Student Resources

Office of Student Resources is available to meet the needs of qualifying students. Services include but are not limited to workshops and training on Life & Study Skills, Communication, Personal Branding, Leadership, Employability, Parenting Skills, Financial Management, and Networking; institutional and community resources and referrals; non-traditional career peer group and resource fairs.  The Office of Student Resources special population student groups include:

  • Single parent students, including single pregnant women; who have a dependent child's primary or joint custody.
  • Out of Workforce Individuals who have worked without pay to care for a home and family and for that reason have diminished marketable skills; have been dependent on the income of another family member but are no longer supported by that income.
  • Economically disadvantaged students who are Pell Grant recipients or who are receiving federal assistance such as Food Stamps, TANF and Medicaid.
  • Students enrolled in nontraditional programs of study that lead to occupations or fields that have 25 percent or less of their gender employed within the work (male nurses, female automotive mechanics).
  • English learners, students with limited English proficiency.
  • Students with disabilities.
  • Homeless Individuals are defined as not having a primary residency.
  • Foster Care is defined as students who were in or have aged out of the foster care system.
  • Active Duty is defined as students with parents on active duty in the armed forces. 

The Textbook Lending Program is available to qualifying students. Application forms and electronic submission information is available on the website.
