Program Description: Medical Laboratory Technology teaches students to perform clinical laboratory procedures under the supervision of a qualified pathologist and/or medical laboratory scientist. Classroom training is integrated with clinical experiences under the medical direction of cooperating clinical laboratories. Program graduates have the qualifications of a Medical Laboratory Technician and are eligible for national certification. The program allows the student to articulate their 2-year degree with a 4-year online CLS/MLS degree.
Program Length: A full-time student who has successfully completed all prerequisite courses with C or better and who has been admitted into the Medical Laboratory Technology program can complete the Medical Laboratory Technology program in five semesters.
Admission Requirements: Students must meet all admission requirements of the college and have reached the age of 18. Students who intend to apply for the Medical Laboratory Technology program must enroll in the Health Sciences Certificate program or Interdisciplinary Studies- Health Track to complete the associate degree level prerequisites.
Pre-Requisite Courses: The completion of the pre-requisite courses does not guarantee admission into the Medical Laboratory Technology program. Admission into the Medical Laboratory Technology program is competitive, and the program does not maintain a waiting list.
