Counseling Services and Student Advocacy
Chattahoochee Technical College provides students with a wide range of counseling and supportive services that focus on helping students with educational, personal and career concerns. Counseling combines a professional relationship and growth process that empowers diverse individuals and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals during one's educational journey. The staff provides individual counseling and group therapy as it relates to the educational experience, grief and loss, stress management, depression, anxiety, and other mental health/wellness assistance. Services are provided through face-to-face office sessions or telemental health via secure video or phone.
Counseling offices are located on the North Metro and Marietta campus locations.
Our mission is to provide self-help strategies that promote student success in post-secondary education. Our goal is to empower students to seek a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle with positive perspective and optimal coping skills to reach full potential. When appropriate, students will be referred to community agencies and/or other resources to give them every opportunity to receive the help they need.
Counseling Services also provides mental health webinars, workshops, and awareness activities each term on many campus locations.
Counseling and Student Advocacy also provides a student advocate to assist students in resolving difficult or complicated situations where they need an individual to help guide them through processes of student conduct, academic misconduct, and other related situations. The student advocate acts in the best interest of the students and strives to meet their needs by collaborating with other staff and faculty, imparting information on the college's policies and procedures, and seeking opportunities to resolve issues.
To request assistance, students should consult the Counseling Services and Student Advocacy website.
