Technical Specialist Certificate

Program Purpose: The purpose of this certificate is to prepare students for positions in business that require written and oral communication skills along with the technical proficiency to translate technical information to various audiences and in various formats. Occupational coursework provides students with an understanding of the business environment and aspects of today's business media/technology environment. Program objectives include providing students with an appreciation of the cultural and social context of the audience; developing an understanding of the basic psychological principles that affect oral and written communications; and developing scientific and/or mathematical skills that enable them to understand technical communication tasks. 

The coursework in any technical certificate of credit (TCC) curricula may have prerequisite courses that must be completed prior to enrolling in the TCC courses. All TCCs offered at the college require a minimum of appropriate certificate/diploma placement test scores OR completion of any required learning support courses through the diploma exit point.
