RNSG 1100 Principles of Pharmacology

Principles of Pharmacology introduces the science of pharmacology while considering the role of the registered nurse in the preparation, management and administration of medications. The course will provide insight into the principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Several concepts such as evidenced-based practice, quality and safety, nursing judgment, informatics, health teaching and health promotion, and professional identity will be introduced. Other course topics include, but are not limited to drugs acting on the nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, renal, and respiratory systems.
