Program Accreditations

The Automotive Technology Program and the Automotive Collision Repair Program are certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) upon the recommendation of the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

The Clinical Laboratory Technology program has applied for accreditation by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS), located at 5600 North River Rd., Suite 720, Rosemont, Illinois 60018-5119. The CLT program has reached the "Serious Applicant Status" phase of accreditation and graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the Clinical Laboratory Technician administered by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT). The Culinary Arts Program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC).

The Health Information Technology (HIT) associates degree program is in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

The Horticulture Program is accredited by The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).

The Medical Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (AAMAE). The Occupational Therapy Assistant program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 4720 Montgomery Lane, Suite 200, Bethesda, MD 20814-3449. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In addition, most states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
