Library/Information Resource Services

The seven campus libraries and one Program Resource Room at Chattahoochee Technical College house over 61,000 physical volumes as well as 185,000+ electronic books, and subscribe to some 426 periodicals and scientific journals, and selected local newspapers. The major online resources available at public personal computers in each library include a web based library materials catalog; Georgia Library Learning Online (GALILEO) for online access to periodicals and journals; other electronic databases in curricular areas; Internet and e-mail access. Upon request of the instructor, the library staff offers customized Library Instruction in the use of library and information resources.

The library is a member of Georgia Online Database (GOLD) which provides access to materials from other libraries in Georgia and the Southeast through interlibrary loan (ILL). Formal agreements with Southern Polytechnic State University, Kennesaw State University, Georgia Highlands College, Reinhardt College, and all other TCSG libraries permit faculty and staff to use the libraries and borrow materials at those institutions.

Library and Information Resource Services are available on the Marietta campus 63 hours per week. The other campus libraries’ hours vary from 5-52 hours per week, and are set in an effort to maximize availability to students and faculty. Provision is made to cover evening hours as well as day hours on all campuses. The libraries are open to all students, faculty, and staff of Chattahoochee Technical College as well as adult residents of the college service area.
